The smaller sized velvet Scindapsus is native to Southeast Asia and is a climbing vine that grows on understory trees. The plant uses aerial roots to cling to trees and creates coverage in tropical forests. The velvety leaves definitely set it apart from its more common green pothos cousins. Its silver speckling gives it such a unique, almost ethereal look, and allows it to tolerate lower light conditions. She is for the plant parent that wants a low maintenance queen.
Satin Pothos are pretty flexible when it comes to lighting, which is one of the reasons they make such great low-maintenance plants. Ideally, they do best in bright, indirect light. This means a spot where the plant gets plenty of light but not direct sunlight. Direct sun can scorch the leaves, turning them yellow or brown around the edges.
Water her weekly, keep her in a space with bright indirect light and forget she exists. This plant is toxic to pets.
