This tall, upright plant is native to Eastern Africa and is ab evergreen succulent popular for its architectural, upright leaves. Its thick, sword-shaped leaves grow vertically and are often variegated with green stripes and yellow margins, particularly in cultivars like ‘Laurentii.’ Often called “Mother’s Tongue,” it thrives in virtually any space, lighting condition, or energy, making it an ideal choice for new plant parents. Its slow-growing, thick, waxy leaves make it highly tolerant of pests, while each stalk grows in height during the summer, eventually forming a fuller, multi-stemmed plant.
This plant is drought- and neglect-tolerant, preferring to be left alone and unbothered.
